This week, Training Development Specialist at MacLean-Fogg Company, Nick Stauffer returns to his old stomping grounds to feature the University of Arkansas Volunteer Action Center (VAC):
Nick Stauffer, University of Arkansas alumnus and former award-winning Resident Assistant (RA) is a proud supporter of the Volunteer Action Center (VAC). A student-led organization in the Division of Student Affairs: Center for Community Engagement, VAC is a cornerstone of the University community’s outreach efforts of community work in the local area. The organization works to support a strong network of student volunteers. VAC is a staple in the Northwest Arkansas community; partnering with local programs such as GivePulse and HogSync.
There are various programs launched, managed and maintained by the Volunteer Action Center of the University of Arkansas. Pillar programs that Nick Stauffer is most passionate about include: Passionate About Literacy (P.A.L Program), Believe in Girls (Dream B.I.G.), Razorback Food Recovery, Full Circle Food Pantry, Student Engagement, and Be B.O.L.D. (Brave, Outstanding, Loving, Determined). University of Arkansas students must have a minimum of 10 service hours logged in a single academic year to become eligible for VAC membership. The group is located in the Center of Community Engagement (CCE) on the Second Floor of the Arkansas Student Union.
